Current Position and Title:
PhD student at the University of São Paulo, Brazil
Education and Past Positions:
Ph.D (in progress): Doctorate in Microbiology, University of São Paulo.
Advisor : Dr. Irma Nelly Gutierrez Rivera
B.Sc. 2002: Graduation in Sciences with concentration in Biology. Methodist University of Piracicaba, UNIMEP, Brazil.
Professional Interests:
Bianca's Ph.D. thesis research concerns the diversity of isolated microorganisms in seawater from the coastal areas of the São Sebastião Channel, north of São Paulo. Her interests are in the area of bacterial biodiversity, bacterial ecology and microbial molecular ecology.
Bianca has previous experience conducting environmental analyses, for example, seawater and freshwater samples.

Bianca is happy to be in the final stages of her thesis research.

Family and Personal Interests/Activities:
Bianca enjoys watching movies and is fond of her pet dog, a little Maltese.
