Professional Interests:
Brian is primarily a fish immunologist with a desire to understand the mechanism underlying disease resistance in teleost fish. He also takes interest in immunotoxicology and ecological issues, as described on his webpage: http://www.biology.uwaterloo.ca/people/bdixon/index.html

Most Satisfying Achievements/Awards:

Brian is proud of every student who has graduated from his laboratory. Seeing them complete a degree is the most satisfying experience a scientist could have!

Family and Personal Interests/Activities:

Brian spends all his non-working time with his wife and two young daughters. He enjoys bird watching and gardening in the few moments he has to himself.
