Current Position and Title:
Marilaine is a Lecturer in Food Microbiology in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences, The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados

Marilaine is interested in the search for novel marine microbial products. She and her colleagues conduct research directed to the detection, purification and characterization (including mode of action) of new natural antimicrobial substances from microorganisms, especially marine bacteria.

Family and Personal Interests/Activities:
Marilaine and her husband Marc divide their year between Canada and beautiful Barbados where she enjoys swimming and snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea .
