Senior Researcher. Pharmacology Department, Center of Marine Bioproducts (CEBIMAR), Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Havana, Cuba

1968. Licentiate in Education in Biological Sciences, Pedagogic University

Professional Interests:
Mirtha's professional interest is the pharmacological evaluation of marine bioactive substances exhibiting anti-inflammatory, analgesic, neuroactive, cardioactive and diuretic properties.

Most Satisfying Achievements/Awards:
Research recognition by the Cuban Meeting of Natural and Traditional Medicine (1999): for Screening of anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects in marine extracts.

Research Recognition by the Cuban Science Academy (2001): for Screening of anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects in nine marine extracts.

Family and Personal Interests/Activities:
Mirtha enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She also likes to go to the theater and to the beach.
