Appointment as Director General, NRC Institute for Marine Biosciences (IMB) Halifax, Canada;
The Domoic Acid Story: (In 1987, while RAF was Director General of IMB, the team he put together isolated and identified, in just four days, the toxin responsible for illness and three deaths in Montreal from eating mussels toxified with domoic acid by a bloom of diatoms at the aquaculture site.)
